Kemaman in Terengganu recorded unhealthy air quality with the Air Pollutant Index (API) reading at 103, while four other areas registered moderate API reading as at 8am today.

The Department of Environment (DOE), in its website, said the areas with moderate air quality are Nilai (60), Balok Baru, Kuantan (55), Kuching and Port Klang (51).

Meanwhile, the API reading in other areas was good.

API reading of between 0 and 50 is categorised as good, 51 to 100 (moderate), 101 to 200 (unhealthy), 201 to 300 (very unhealthy) and 300 and above (hazardous).

Members of the public could surf the department’s portal at http://www.doe.gov.my to check out the API reading in their respective areas.
