Sumatra quake tremors felt in Selangor and Perak

A magnitude 5.7 earthquake struck in the Nias islands region in Sumatra at 10.35pm last night causing tremors to be felt in several areas in Perak and Selangor.
A magnitude 5.7 earthquake struck in the Nias islands region in Sumatra at 10.35pm last night causing tremors to be felt in several areas in Perak and Selangor.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MMD) in a statement said its epicentre was 68km north-east of the Nias islands, 408km north-west of Sabak Bernam, Selangor.
MMD was monitoring developments and would update accordingly, the statement added.
