Sarawak Chief Minister Adenan Satem today ticked off DAP for going on its "Impian Sarawak" projects in the rural areas of the state as just tokenism politics.

He said these small projects undertaken by DAP in a few villages in the

rural areas was similar to "a chicken that lays one egg and makes a lot of noise in the village."

"However a turtle that lays 100 eggs will just keep quiet," Adenan ( left ) said when alluding to big projects implemented by the Barisan Nasional (BN) government.

"DAP is just doing what is called tokenism and its going rural programme will not  affect the BN's strength in the state," he told a press conference after chairing the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Supreme Council meeting at the party headquarters in Kuching today.

According to Wikipedia, in politics, allegations of tokenism may occur when a political party puts forward candidates from under-represented groups, such as women or racial minorities, in races that the party has little or no chance of winning, to maintain the appearance of diversity.

DAP has accused BN of depriving the rural communities of their basic rights and vowed under “Impian Sarawak & Sabah” they will provide basic infrastructure, such as roads, water and electricity to the villagers in the rural areas.

However, Sarawak BN leaders have also described the DAP efforts as outdated as the BN government has been doing better and bigger projects to uplift the living standard of the people in the state, including those in the rural areas.
