Kelantan's Syariah chief judge Daud Muhammad has urged all Muslim parliamentarians to back the Hudud bill as everything else for it is already in place.

        

Daud was reported in Sinar Harian as saying that besides the vote, to realise Hudud law in Kelatan would require three judges in a special Syariah Court and five judges in the Syariah Appeal court.

The hudud law, he emphasised, would not involve non-Muslims and they need not worry.

"Kelantan has prepared what needs to be tabled in Parliament. I am confident that we are well prepared after all this time.

"Now we expect Parliament to support it as it is the responsibility of all Muslims," he added.

PAS had drawn up a Private Member's Bill for hudud to change the Syariah Criminal (II) Code to enhance its power and has been drawing support since last month.

Daud said that hudud will be explained fully to non-Muslims.

He added that it was not to convert them but to help them see how hudud can bring justice to the whole society, no matter race or religion.
