The air quality nationwide was generally good with seven places recording moderate Air Pollutant Index (API) as of 12 noon.

The Department of Environment (DOE) said the areas with moderate readings were Alor Setar (51), Bakar Arang (52) in Kedah; Bukit Rambai, Malacca (51), Balok Baru, Kuantan (55), ILP Miri (55), Port Klang, Selangor (66) and Batu Muda, Kuala Lumpur (52).

An API reading of between zero and 50 indicates good air quality, 51 to 100, moderate, between 101 to 200, unhealthy, between 201 to 300, very unhealthy and over 301, hazardous.

The public can refer to the http://www.doe.gov.my portal to know the API readings.
