Terengganu Menteri Besar Ahmad Said has declined to comment on an English newspaper report yesterday, that he would be replaced soon.

The state BN chairperson was re-appointed menteri besar after the 13th general election when the state BN won a simple majority of 17 out of the 32 state assembly seats on May 5, last year.

Asked to comment on the report after the state executive council meeting in Lake Kenyir in Hulu Terengganu, he would only say: "No comment".

On the two names mentioned in The Star news report, said to replace him, Ahmad again said: "No comment".

"He (the writer of the news report) can say what he wants, it is okay, up to him," he told reporters.

According to the news report which quoted sources, Terengganu was set to see a new menteri besar any time between May 15 and 18.

Ahmad, 56, received his letter of appointment as menteri besar with the consent of the Sultan of Terengganu Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin last year on May 9.

Ahmad, who is also Kijal assemblyperson, was first appointed menteri besar by Sultan Mizan on March 22, 2008.

After the meeting, Ahmad and several other exco members visited the Elephant Village in Lake Kenyir which would be opened on Friday.
