MCA deputy president Wee Ka Siong today questioned if PAS is appearing to have the "same manipulations" as Iran leader Ayatollah Khomeini and the Syrian rebel forces in removing Hu Pang Chaw as PAS supporters club chairperson.

Yesterday, Hu told Malaysiakini that his strong anti-Hudud stance has left him in the cold, as he claimed to be in the dark about being replaced.

Wee said today that PAS "conveniently used" and "manipulated" Hu ( left ) and has now abandoned him when the party found him to be a threat.

"If this is how PAS can mistreat its ardent loyalist despite all the brickbats PAS received, imagine how worse PAS will oppress ethnic and religious minorities in Malaysia should PAS ever seize Putrajaya?" he asked in a statement.

"In Iran, westerns powers initially believed the stories spun and supported the late Ayatollah Khomeini as a reformer against an oppressive regime. However, as soon as he took power, the religious clerics adopted more hardline laws in Iran.

"Likewise, currently in Syria, America had initially been supportive of rebel forces opposing President Bashar al-Assad.

"However, as rebel forces gained strength and momentum, it raided Christian minority villages, destroyed churches which long have enjoyed religious freedom and protection under Syria's secular laws," he added.

Hu was fielded against Wee under a PAS ticket in last year's general election for the Ayer Hitam parliamentary seat in Johor and lost to the MCA deputy president by a slim majority.

"Why did PAS hurl Hu into a BN seat where he stood little chance of winning, unless it was meant to further dilute his influence within PAS and Kelantan?

"Why didn't PAS field Hu in PAS incumbent seats of Kota Bharu or Tumpat?" Wee asked.

Wee also said that PAS' move to delay tabling a Private Member's Bill to push for Hudud in Kelantan was just a tactic to "allay" a DAP defeat in the Bukit Gelugor and Teluk Intan by-elections.
