Hell hath no fury like an MB scorned
YOURSAY ‘Najib's cliche is back to haunt him, ‘You help me, I help you.’”
Heated talks could see rep return to Umno
Karma Chameleon: This latest conundrum lays bare PM Najib Razak's weakness as a leader. He should have weighed the repercussions of rejecting the Terengganu MB's appeal for "stay of execution" for just another week.
Ahmad Said was not asking for eternity. You snubbed him, he snubs you back. For that, Ahmad Said has my respect.
But just watch Najib. In no time, he will sound arrogant again - that Umno can remain united under his stewardship. Well, he should know that "hell hath no fury like an MB scorned".
Ib: They can take turns and resign one a month so that they can get ‘ang pows’ from Najib.
That is unless Najib gives ang pow to everyone in one go and handcuff them to the party with a signed letter of withdrawal of resignation.
But one can always resign twice so Najib will have to make them sign multiple letters each. What an inspiring lot to watch.
Ferdtan: This is horse trading at its best. The higher you jump and go back, the better the rewards. Najib's cliche is coming back to haunt him, "You help me, I help you."
Kanasai: The next Umno assembly can worth much more to Bukit Besi assemblyperson Roslee Daud. Go for it fast, it is a once in a lifetime opportunity for the Umno Terengganu assembly member.
After all, what is the purpose of being an Umno representative? If not for money, than what else? To service the people? Come on, be sincere to yourself and to the Maker.
Fair Play: Politics is the art of the possible and therefore everything is negotiable.
Roslee withdraws Umno resignation
Dont Just Talk: Please pass a law in Parliament which makes it mandatory for any MP or state assemblyman to resign from their post if they chose to resign from the party after winning the general/by-election.
It will stop the rot in the country and saves taxpayers’ money. When all the frogs are culled, the croaking will stop.
Swipenter: This is a million-dollar question only Roslee Daud can answer. The question is "Not how high can he jump, but how much can he jump."
Multi Racial: Imagine if Terengganu is now Pakatan Rakyat state government and it happens to Pakatan or PAS assemblymen quitting and becoming independent.
You can be sure Umno politicians will be working behind the scene to offer money or position to these frogs.
However, in current situation affecting BN government, Pakatan and PAS did not hit below the belt. They even made public that they are not interested to solicit these three frogs.
Instead of allowing these frogs to hold the state on ransom like what happen in Perak, the sultan should just dissolve the state assembly and call for a fresh election to allow the people to decide who they want to govern the state.
Versey: A Kadir Jasin, former group chief editor of News Straits Times , said in a blog post :
“This is just the early stages. Politicians can change their mind freely if the price is right, it is often said that trustworthy politicians don't exist anymore.”
When "You help me, I help you" turns sour and becomes "You sack me, I trick you", they will revert back to "You help me, I help you" panacea for all shameless, unprincipled and unscrupulous BN politicians.
Kawak: In Umno culture, everything is about money - contract awards and other form of rewards are promised in political deals.
So, in this sandiwara, these "rebels" will get their fair share of "loot" to return to the Umno fold. Congratulations.
CQ Muar: Najib must have worried sick over the prospect of the three quitting Umno, hence the same tactic of offering delicious millions to stop them from quitting.
The good people of Terengganu should gauge the kind of leaders they had voted for from examples like Roslee.
Muhibbah: Where are your principles? Submit resignation in the morning and retract it on the same day. Don't take the voters as fools.
Voice: Ahmad Said must have felt very touch when he heard about his (Roslee’s) resignation. Now he should have aware of hard reality that true comradeship will never exist in Umno-BN.
Mosquitobrain: Both the palms were greased with petroringgit. What do you expect? No dignity, no integrity. How not to get tempted?
