YOURSAY ‘As a Muslim, Mahathir shouldn't speak ill of others.’
Dr M: Anwar 'morally unfit' to talk about Islam
Onyourtoes: Former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad, what is morality?
Is stealing billions, putting political opponents in jail, fabricating false charges against others, enriching friends and cronies at the expense of the poor, lying and cheating, causing disunity among races and instigating religious animosity morally acceptable?
War Child: How cruel can you be for attacking Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim yet again. He is facing the prospect of yet another jail term imposed by appellate court judges which the Malaysian public perceive to be Umno friendly.
Anwar tries to gain power by way of the ballot despite the odds against him. For one, his war chest is incomparable to the huge funds available at PM Najib Razak's disposal.
Ipohcrite: As a Muslim, Mahathir shouldn't speak ill of others. If Anwar is morally unfit to talk about Islam, Mahathir is morally unfit to pass judgement on anybody.
SteveOh: Matthew 7.1 - "Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
3. “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4. How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye?
5. “You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.”
ACR: You know Mahathir, many think that you should not be talking at all on economic management, development, fundamental liberties, democracy, human rights, free trade, minority rights, rule of law, separation of powers, freedom of the press, public administration, anti-corruption, transparency, allocation of scarce resources and above all, religion.
You are an anathema to these concepts.
J Chong: How about yourself, ex-PM, corruption and misuse of power also prohibited in Islam, you make your family so rich via misuse of power, is this Islamic?
CQ Muar: Mahathir, your constant personal attack on Anwar probably stems from your inner fear that someday you'd meet with retribution and punishment.
Indeed, we are thankful to you for the legacy you bequeathed to the nation - those evil and corruptible practices the present state we're now in under Umno-led government.
Perhaps it's not extreme to label you as the ‘Father of all corruption’. We urge you contemplate not interfering further with unwarranted comments, as you're no longer respected.
To be blunt, you're now considered a pest and an aged public nuisance. Playing with your grandchildren or relax ing in your favourite rocking chair will be a better option.
Casey: To paraphrase what Hunter Thompson said of Richard Nixon, “(Mahathir) is an evil man - evil in a way that only those who believe in the physical reality of the devil can understand it. He is utterly without ethics or morals or any bedrock sense of decency.”
Being the ‘father’ of all corruption he had, not only compromised his own morals, but also had invariably endangered the morals of the entire nation.
Anticonmen: You were given a chance to appear in court and provide your so-called evidence of Anwar's sodomy but you chickened out. Now you say Anwar has no morals. Indeed, you have no principles.
2 Tim 1:7: Since to date neither he nor his sons have declared their assets in public and explained how they acquired them, it is reasonable to infer that they have not got them legitimately.
Innumerable maledictions have been invoked upon them. Do you think that they can enjoy their ill-gotten wealth in peace? No, never! The old coot's rantings is a sure sign of a tormented conscience.
Banzai: Mahathir, I really feel sorry for you. Every time you open your mouth, people will curse you and bad mouth you.
Why can't you shut up or talk something good to avoid the curse at this time in your old age?
Fair Play: Dr M, why not for once, be truthful. Are you envious you are not invited to give such a talk?
A our life journey is nearing the end , everyone of us is alone and all alone to ponder over the uncertainties ahead. Those of us who are at peace with ourselves would certainly be at peace with the world.
Do we honestly believe that Dr M does not think long and late in the night, every night when the day of reckoning would come and how his report card would stack up against him?
Repent before it's too late, PKR tells Mahathir
Milosevic: PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution hurts his whole case for Anwar by now requiring Mahathir to produce four witnesses for the sodomy case.
I am not saying anything about Anwar's guilt or innocence, but it becomes very suspicious when hudud is invoked as not only a test for a good Muslim but also as serving the cause of justice.
All the fears that rapists and abusive persons will be protected rather than being incurring due justice under syariah is bearing out. PKR is getting less attractive by the day.
Pemerhati: Mahathir’s speciality is to tell lies by mixing facts with fiction (lies). This was clearly revealed in his book titled ‘A Doctor in the House’ which was mixture of facts, half truths and lies.
The late author Barry Wain, who reviewed the book, coined the word ‘faction’ (fact + fiction) to describe some of the contents of his book.
Lightning: A man with deep bitterness in his heart cannot himself be a religious person.
