A political Charlie Chaplin here to entertain us

YOURSAY ‘The independent candidates in Bukit Gelugor are strange fellows.’

Desperate candidate jumps in front of CM's car

Jiminy Qrikert: Bukit Gelugor Independent candidate Abu Backer Sidek Mohamad Zan a lawyer? What a joke.

He must be the ambulance-chasing type of lawyer demonstrating the tricks of the trade in getting unfair compensation by throwing themselves in front of oncoming vehicles and then suing the daylights out of the unfortunate drivers.

Good thing there were witnesses and a video recording otherwise you never know what Abu Backer can conjure up from his bag of tricks.

Casey919: Chinese believe strongly that this  (sleeping under the car) is bad omen. See what people can do when faced with losing RM10,000 of their deposit. I have placed my bet, have you?

Awakened: The independent candidates in the Bukit Gelugor by-election are a group of strange and thick-skinned fellows.

First, they have names such as Mohamed Nabi Bux Mohd Nabi Abdul Sathar and Abu Backer.

One claimed to be from PAS but the party has denied that he is one of them. Now you have Abu Backer throwing himself in front of a moving car. It looks like their caliber could be better utilised in the acting industry.

I hope the Bukit Gelugor residents will make them lose their deposit. I feel shameful for Malaysia to have such people standing for elections.

Bury Lynas: On any sunny day, there is a Charlie Chaplin to entertain the world. It’s pretty rare in the political arena.

Worried Sick: I would like to propose to the relevant authorities that in future anyone who wants to be a candidate in any election should provide a letter of guarantee from the medical authorities that he or she is of sane and competent mind, and not a lunatic in any sense of the word.

J Ng: Abu Backer is a disgrace to the legal profession. Indeed, it’s an insult to have such a candidate.

And obviously, he is not even unsuitable to be a clown as the public don't see his antics funny. A detailed analysis of his background will reveal psychological instability and an attention-seeking ego.

Milosevic: This prankster must have had high confidence that the Mercedes Benz's brakes  would work. I wonder whether he would have thrown himself at a Proton.

I'm not gay! Ramkarpal responds to Huan

Old Timer: Bukit Gelugor candidate and Parti Cinta Malaysia vice-president Huan Cheng Guan Huan is really despicable.

He should be disqualified for insinuating that his rival, Ramkarpal Singh, is gay. If he is any good, he should campaign what he can do for the rakyat.

But now, he already showed us he is incapable of doing anything for the country, except to point out who is gay. He is as good as having lost the election already.

Well done, Huan, you can say goodbye to your deposit.

Anak Perak: Huan, instead of going into your opponent's Facebook, looking at photos and speculating on his sexual preference, you should be sharing with the Bukit Gelugor folks your policies and what improvements you can bring to them.

Hopefully the voters will send you the right message by ensuring that you lose your deposit.

Fairnessforall: Many men have pictures of football players in their Facebook, so does that mean that they are gay too?

Have you not heard of men who want to build muscles like those muscular men and they keep those photos to inspire them.

Huan, your rationale of asking why Ramkarpal is uploading many photos of muscular men on his FB only tells us you are stupid and have got no better issues to bring up.

Even if Ramkarpal was a gay, so what? He is still a human being and has every right to stand for election.

Kilgore: We should not dignify Huan’s comment with any discussion at all.

Apa Ini: Ram Karpal, you shouldn't have dignified Huan's provocative and malicious comments with a response.

Better the happy bachelor dedicated to his cause(s) than a petty-mined married man who may be unhappily married with family he has no time for as he's too busy making cheap shots.

SusahKes: My question is, why was Huan looking at the muscular men in Ram's FB? Now, I'd like to know, what else has Huan been looking in other people's FB pages?
