TELUK INTAN Umno stalwart Mohd Ali Rustam is wondering if DAP candidate Dyana Sofya Mohd Daul will speak out against vernacular schools in order to foster racial unity.

"Can the Teluk Intan DAP candidate champion a single stream school system like in Singapore to reduce racism and towards uniformity?” he asked on Twitter.

He also questioned if the Teluk Intan DAP candidate would champion for more Malays to be included in Chinese companies to mend racial politics and equality?

Ali ( left ) also weighed into DAP's Seri Delima state assemblyperson RSN Rayer's Umno "celaka" (damned) remark.

The former Malacca chief minister labelled Rayer as "the father of celaka".

The "celaka" remark prompted violent protests by Umno Youth members, who claim that it was tantamount to an insult to Malays and Muslims which Umno represents.

Ali claimed that DAP could only garner support by insulting Malays and Muslims.

The now Permodalan Nasional Berhad chairperson had shortly after the 13th general election lashed out at the Chinese community after he lost in the parliamentary seat of Bukit Katil.

He is known for his infamous quote "Apa Lagi Cina Mahu" (What more do the Chinese want?) which appeared on the front-page of Umno-owned Utusan Malaysia after the community's poor support for the ruling coalition in the general election.

BN has fielded Gerakan president Mah Siew Keong as its candidate for the Teluk Intan by-election. Polling day is set for May 31.
