Previously, Anwar Ibrahim had been vocal in his criticism of the government and Election Commission over the issue of election irregularities. He also called for their resignations.

But when the PKR elections are marred by irregularities, an Umno division leader said, the opposition leader remains silent.

"He used his supporters to hold demonstrations to express their dissatisfaction over the last general election, claiming that it was unfair.

"He called on the country's leaders to resign. But now when the tables are turned, he keeps quiet," said Tasek Gelugor Umno division leader Shabudin Yahaya ( left ).

Shabudin said Anwar should feel ashamed over the "banyak magic" (abundance of magic) in the PKR polls and resign.

"Why hasn't he resigned? For someone who is so vocal, he should prove that he practises what he preaches," he is quoted as saying by Umno Online .

Shabudin said apart from Anwar being tight-lipped, PKR members have also not called on him to quit over this failure in leadership.

"But I am not surprised, because Anwar's supporters seem to be suffering from a disease of confusion. They are confused about finding their place in the political arena.

"This is why the majority of Anwar's supporters are youths because this group is easily confused and can be exploited," he added.

Shabudin also urged Anwar to look into the mirror first before pointing fingers at others in the future.

"Don't be quick to condemn others when you are even worse... But Anwar is the type who does not know what shame is," he added.
