Brawl at Perlis-Sarawak Sukma football match
The final group stage match between hosts Perlis and Sarawak in the football competition of the 17th Malaysia Games (Sukma) at Stadium UiTM Perlis in Arau today was marred by fighting between Sarawak players and home supporters after the hosts won 4-1.
It took police and security personnel a good 10 minutes to restore order.

The incident broke out after officials and players of the Ngap Sayot (Sarawak squad) became riled up by the incessant booing of the home supporters.
"Passions run high in football match. I cannot comment as yet, I was not there when the incident happened but I was informed order was restored very quickly.
"Police and volunteers responded very quickly. After this, we will review security arrangements and I hope fans will also contain their emotions and show support professionally," Jamil Che Mat, the competitions manager for the Perlis Sukma football, told reporters.
Besides Perlis, the other teams which advance to the quarters finals were Sabah, Perak, Kedah, Penang, Federal Territories, Johor and Negri Sembilan.
