Six senators took their oath before Dewan Negara president Abu Zahar Ujang in Kuala Lumpur today.

For four of them, Yunus Kurus, Syed Ibrahim Kader, Chin Su Phin and Norliza Abdul Rahim, it is a re appointment, after having served for one term.

The two new appointees for the three-year term are Sungai Petani Umno divisional deputy head Shahanim Mohamad Yusoff, 41, and former Jerai Umno divisional head, Mohd Suhaimi Abdullah, 56.
