Najib’s advisers not keeping him in the loop?
YOURSAY ‘PM, if you are trying to be funny, why is no one laughing?’
PM: I'm not aware of cabinet reshuffle
Rat-a-tat: Of course, Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak is not aware. Not only about the cabinet reshuffle but a lot other things around him.
After all, he too was apparently not aware that the immigration records of Altantuya Shariibuu's arrival to Malaysia was deleted, the National Feedlot Corporation (NFC) project was awarded to Shahrizat Abdul Jalil's family, there was a huge commission involved in the purchase of the Scorpene submarines and that his wife had used the government's private jet for a recent rendezvous to the Middle East, among others.
To be fair to Najib, there were some things that he is aware of. One is there were some negative comments made against him in Malaysiakini . And driven by that, Najib has decided to sue Malaysiakini for purported defamation.
No, Najib is also not aware that the Malaysian courts are not free. I wonder if Najib is aware that he is the prime minister.
Anonymous_1390562550: PM, if you are trying to be funny, why is no one laughing?
Please have the dignity that goes with the job and say something intelligent like, "Yes, it (the cabinet reshuffle) is in the pipeline but right now I rather not comment on it. Just wait and see."
Got it, Mr PM?
Doc: Don't worry, Najib. Once the cabinet reshuffling has been done and concluded, I am sure the fellows who are really in charge of running the government and country (whoever they may be) will brief you and get your stamp of approval.
You don't need to worry on such insignificant issues. It is important that you carry on with the sole function that 47 percent of Malaysians elected you for, which is conducting overseas visits to foster better ties with other countries.
So please continue with your trips to Australia, China, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, UK, etc. As for the running of the country, it is on autopilot.
Najib, it’s best to read Malayskini for updates on what is going on with your administration. Obviously, your advisers, cabinet members and party bigwigs have not been keeping you in the loop on how Malaysia is faring on a daily basis.
Also a piece of advice - skip reading the Malaysiakini comments section which may cause you to suffer elevated blood pressure.
Idiot: Since the day he became PM, he has been clueless. MH370, clueless. Islamic extremists, clueless. Police brutality, clueless. Water shortage in Selangor, clueless. When will he wake up from slumberland?
CQ Muar: Who cares about the cabinet reshuffle? After all, whichever, whatever or however Najib moves the chess pieces makes no difference, as they are all ‘pawns’ despite being leaders of the ruling government.
Idiots are idiots no matter who holds what portfolio unless Najib is committed to rectifying the already pathetic image of the nation.
At the end of the day, whatever effort the PM makes in visiting other nations to convince them avails to nothing.
To start off: racism, religious tolerance, transparency, corruption, cronyism, extremism, police brutality, hooliganism, equality and fairness for all races must be put in place; for only then do we envisage and ensure success for this nation we share and love.
Casey: In reality, it matters not who Najib drops or appoints to the cabinet. They'll become and behave exactly like every other monkey in a cage.
Musician Ray Davies had this to say of corruption and in poetic rhythm and rhyme: "Money and corruption are ruining the land, crooked politicians betray the working man, pocketing the profits and treating us like sheep, and we're tired of hearing promises that we know they'll never keep."
The amount of money stolen from the people, the working man who pay taxes - by the politicians, senior civil servants and their cronies and accomplices - is simply mind-boggling and beyond comprehension. Their modus operandi is callous, manifested and blatant.
Simply because there's no viable framework for effective checks and balances - grossly inflated government procurement and supply contracts, blown-up infrastructure projects, exorbitant tolls, oppressive utility tariffs, outrageous Approved Permits (APs), and the list is never ending.
Vijay47: I am not at all well-versed with international diplomatic, trade or other relations but I am curious about one thing. Why are you and your wife (Rosmah Mansor) always up-and-awaying to Turkmenistan?
Dizzer: A reshuffle is very difficult due to the lack of talent and numbers that Najib has to draw upon.
Malaysia has 35 cabinet ministers and 26 deputy ministers - so 61 holding ministerial portfolios (six of them senators) and only 134 BN MPs. It's a uniquely a top-heavy executive.
Awang Top: Najib said that he was not aware of a cabinet reshuffle. Ask Rosmah. She is charge of the kitchen cabinet.
