'Charging my husband insults Malay race'

Ferdtan: Nor Saleha Mohd Salleh, wife of Isma president Abdullah Zaik Abdul Rahman, do defend your husband’s innocence by all means, but don’t add fuel to the fire by stating that the sedition charge is an insult to all Malays.

 

One bigot is enough for all, we don’t need another one from the family. Who appointed or voted your husband to be the spokesperson of Malays? Indeed, he has no authority to say that he represented Malays.

 

Isn’t it ridiculous to say that the charge which he got into trouble with the authorities, controlled by mainly Malay-manned enforcement institutions, led by a Malay-dominated government, is an insult to all Malays?

 

So who has more right to speak for the Malays; Isma president, or on the other side, the governing groupings, IGP (inspector-general of police), AG (attorney-general) and PM who are all Malays?

 

Nor Saleha, you say, “My husband is a symbol of the Malay struggle, because Abdullah was struggling to uphold the pride of the race.”

 

Again, what symbol of the Malay struggle are you talking about? In fact, he is just the opposite; he is an insult to all Malays for displaying such disgraceful characters.

 

He makes the ordinary Malays who are not like that blushed in shame. Ordinary Malays are tolerant, kind, easy-going and practise in accordance to the dictates of the religion, never slander, inciting racial hatred, and have no difficulty living in harmony with all races.

 

Indeed, it is the self-serving Malay like your husband who is the real insult to the Malay race.

 

Quigonbond: First, Isma recycles a Malay/Muslim bogey to scare the Malays. In this, they think Malays are stupid enough to believe in their stories.

 

Second, they think that just like Perkasa, they can get away with murder as long as they are riding the Umno political wind of divide and conquer, of incitement and provocation. There is no doubt in my mind that Malays find the things said highly offensive and embarrassing.

 

Third, now that Umno is slowly waking up to the fact that Rome is actually burning and the have decided some action is needed, and as a result Isma is the scapegoat, and instead of being realistic about the dire position they are in, they continue to accuse others for their own folly.

 

It's amazing someone can be that thick. I hope the president is charged multiple times for all the hurtful remarks he has made.

Telestai!: Nor Saleha, do you think it is possible to uphold the pride of the Malay race without insulting others? Let me help you out here:

 

1) Isma should champion the cause thousands of Muslim wives who are "abandoned" or neglected by their husbands.

 

2) provide assistance to tens of thousands of poor Muslim/Malay families living in abject poverty in outlying areas.

 

3) provide food and shelter of the homeless Malay/Muslims.

 

Do you want me to go on? Clearly what Isma is doing is spewing racial and religious hatred. Don't for one minute think we don't know whose agenda it is serving.

 

Dr Suresh Kumar: A university lecturer does not seem to know the history of Malaya. What a shame, indeed!

 

If you truly wish to help your community, you must use your wisdom and resources to educate them on how to be competitive, efficient, prudent in financial management they gain from ASN (Amanah Saham Nasional) and other funds, fight corruption, management skills, etc, and not by calling others 'intruders'.

 

How on earth we have lecturers with such tunnel vision and an ego as high as Mount Everest? It's just beyond me.

 

Odin: Nor Saleha, your husband has more than insulted both the Malay race and Islam with his action and uttering.

 

But worry not; Umno Baru will arrange for a judge compliant to its wishes to hear the case. He will not even be slapped but caressed on the wrist, given a cup of teh tarik, and chauffeur-driven home for a job well done - bashing the non-Muslims, the non-Malays, and all other religions, especially Christianity.

 

And just you be patient; in a little while, he will be awarded a government contract worth a few billion.

At the moment, I see all these Umno NGOs having an orgy at trying to outdo one another at making hate speeches.

 

I wonder do these Umno NGOs get more money/allocation if they are successful at making hate speeches that get the most attention?
