The Miri Industrial Training Institute recorded unhealthy air pollutant index (API) reading of 122 as at 7am.

According to the Department of Environment, 36 areas recorded moderate readings.

The highest moderate reading of 96 was recorded in Seberang Jaya 2, Perai and Bakar Arang, Sg Petani, followed by Alor Setar (81), Kg Air Putih, Perai (87), Taiping (86), and Port Klang (76).

Other areas which recorded moderate readings are Langkawi (53), Pasir Gudang (53), SMK Tanjung Chat, Kota Bharu (68), Tanah Merah (66), Nilai (57), Balok Baru, Kuantan (59), Indera Mahkota, Kuantan (60), Jerantut (52), Jalan Tasek, Ipoh (68) and Putrajaya (54).

An API reading of between zero and 50 indicates good air quality; between 51 and 100, moderate; between 101 and 200, unhealthy; between 201 and 300, very unhealthy and over 301, hazardous.
