New ministers urged to right Umno's wrongs
Casey: I'm more inclined to be contemptuous against tail-wagging pets. I won't bet or count on neither MCA nor Gerakan to deliver anything meaningful in the macro sense.
MCA leaders Liow Tiong Lai and Wee Ka Siong and Gerakan chief Mah Siew Keong, please ask yourselves and then answer this: could your ministerial positions add anything other than making you a part of a regime organised to serve greed?
Haveagreatday: Good call, DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang. Even as I'm extremely skeptical they will be up to the task, I have decided to suspend my disbelief.
They claim they are minted in a different mould - let's see if they make the grade.
Odin: Of course, the trio will right Umno Baru's wrongs. They will have succeeded within their first 100 hours - hours, not days - in office.
They are all such fearsome, brook-no-nonsense, upright, larger-than-life men. PM Najib Razak will admit that he's no PM material and resign his position; Defence Minister Hishammuddin Hussein will plunge his keris into himself; Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi will renounce his Malaysian citizenship and scoot off to that rathole in Indonesia called Kulon Progo; Minister in the PM’s Department Jamil Khir Baharom will grovel to no less a Christian figure than the pope himself and seek the latter's forgiveness; Kinabatangan MP Bung Moktar Radin will shed his clothes and hasten to Sepilok to live once again with his kind there; and so on.
Grab a bucket of toe-lickin'-good fried chicken and a gallon of the real thang, folks, coz ya'all gonna witness all these miraculous events happen' right before yuoh eyes.
Shanandoah: These three running dogs must be grateful for being included in the cabinet. That's what Isma wants them to be. They cannot challenge Umno Baru's wrongdoing in any way.
By the way, Ministers in the PM's Department, what exactly do they do? Are they equal to other ministers with portfolios? Why does Najib need so many of them in his department?
MCA is like the auto-pilot on MH370. Their leaders are lost and do not know where they have gone.
Awakened: I remembered when MCA was at its prime in 1970s or 80s when the party had four full ministers and four deputy ministers. Even then, MCA can't do anything with the cabinet decision over obvious deviations in university intakes.
Lee San Choon threatened to pull out all the eight ministers if the deviations were not corrected. Lee Kim Sai was also a strong and outspoken MCA leader who spoke his mind. But these two leaders had to "retire" early for not able to "represent" the Chinese effectively.
With MCA having only seven parliamentary seats, it is really a joke to ask the six ministers to arm twist Umno. It will be like asking the ex-deputy minister P Waythamoorthy to get Najib to honour the MOU (memorandum of understanding).
The BN formula of each raced-based party representing their respective race does not work anymore. Change is inevitable.
Ferdtan: What? MCA and Gerakan to put right the previous wrongs made by Umno ministers? MCA and Gerakan are like what our late DPM Dr Ismail Abdul Rahman once said of MCA - the party which was “neither dead or alive.”
So no matter how hard both these parties try to do (especially without sincerity), it is like flogging a dead horse.
Kubang: In its editorial on Sunday, Utusan Malaysia has already spelt out their (MCA and Gerakan’s) mission. Reading between the lines, the editorial has instructed them to bring the Chinese to heel and toe the Umno line.
Utusan tells MCA to redeem itself from shame
Kim Quek: MCA and Gerakan are despised and rejected by Chinese Malaysians because they have acted as apologists for Umno’s racist policies in addition to abetting Umno’s crimes of corruption and abuse of power.
So to change the Chinese view of them, these political parties have to openly condemn Umno’s racism and corruption that have so ravaged this country.
And to show that they have really resolved to turn over a new leaf, they should immediately give a meaningful response to this Utusan broadside for a start. Can they do that?
Multi Racial: Utusan and racist bigots from Umno, Isma and Perkasa have been repeatedly calling the non-Muslims ‘pendatang’, asking them to leave the country, undermine their contribution to the country, treating them like second class citizens, and many more.
And these people dare to warn Gerakan and MCA on their deliverables. It is like they sabotaging and stabbing these two parties on their back time and again, and at the same time asking them what have to done to attract non-Muslim’s support?
In spite of this constant ridiculing, the leaders of these two parties keep "licking" their masters. So pathetic. I have never seen such shameless act.
