The Selangor government will pay out one month’s bonus to civil servants in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri, while Putrajaya will give federal civil servants RM500.

Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said that the bonus will be given to 17,000 workers, including contract staff, local council staff and those employed at state government-linked companies, depending on their respective board decisions.

He said that bonus payout, cost a total  RM32.7 million, will be made before Hari Raya, expected on July 28.

It is funded by the state reserves, which had gone up by RM1.162 billion as at 30 June, he said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Bernama reported that federal government staff up to Grade 54 will get RM500 each, while pensioners will get RM250 each for Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak said that the payment, which will cost the government RM890 million, will be made on July 15.
