Sekolah Kebangsaan Jalan Pegoh, Perak and Nilai, Negri Sembilan were two more places that registered moderate air quality as at 10am today.

This bring the number of places with moderate Air Pollutant Index (API) readings to seven throughout the country, according to the Department of Environment’s (DOE) website.

The situation remains unchanged in five other areas, namely Pasir Gudang, Johor (dropped from 63 to 58), Bakar Arang, Sungai Petani (53), Jalan Tasek, Ipoh (51), Kampung Air Putih, Taiping (51), and Port Klang (51).

An API reading of between zero and 50 indicates good air quality; between 51 and 100, moderate; between 101 and 200, unhealthy; between 201 and 300, very unhealthy and over 301, hazardous.

Members of the public can refer to the DOE portal at http://www. doe.gov.my to find out the API reading for their areas.
