Ampang district police chief ACP Khairuldin Saat said a ring, worth RM10,000, and wrist watch belonging to the well-known director were found missing during the burglary.
"However none of the five occupants, including Yusof, were hurt in the 2.30 am incident," he said when contacted by Bernama .
He said Yusof ( right ) was watching television at that time before hearing his housemaid's screams at the ground floor of his residence.
Yusof, who had rushed to the room, then took his Glock pistol and fired a warning shot towards the staircase before discovering the door grill was prised open.
"He fired another two shots to the nearby jungle because he suspected that the criminals who broke into his house had fled there," said Khairuldin.
He said police investigation revealed two rooms at the fourth storey were found in a mess believed to have been searched during the break-in.
A closed circuit television recording at the residence also found that the three suspects were of small-build and short, besides not wearing gloves, he said.
The case is being investigated under section 395/397 of the Penal Code.
