Moderate air quality in 12 areas as at 8am
Air quality in the country was generally good as at 8am today except in 12 areas where moderate Air Pollutant Index (API) readings were recorded, according to the Department of Environment (DOE) portal.

It said the moderate API readings were recorded in Bakar Arang, Sungai Petani (53), Balok Baru, Kuantan (54), Cheras, Kuala Lumpur (54), Seremban (55), Nilai (57), Port Dickson (60), Putrajaya (61), Petaling Jaya (61), Shah Alam (69), Kuala Selangor (67), Banting (68) and Port Klang (76).
An API reading of between zero and 50 indicates good air quality; between 51 and 100, moderate; between 101 and 200, unhealthy; between 201 and 300, very unhealthy and over 301, hazardous.
Members of the public can refer to the DOE portal at http://www.doe. gov.my to find out the API reading for their areas.
