The air quality in 37 locations across the country was generally good although 15 places had a moderate Air Pollutant Index (API) reading as of 4pm today.

Among them are Pasir Gudang (55), Bakar Arang, Sg Petani (69), Nilai (54), Indera Mahkota, Kuantan (60), Jalan Tasek, Ipoh (58), Kg. Air Putih, Taiping (63) and SK Jalan Pegoh, Ipoh (60)

The other areas are Seri Manjung (63), Tanjung Malim (57), Perai (76), Seberang Jaya 2 (72), Port Klang (59), Kemaman (66) while Batu Muda and Cheras, Kuala Lumpur both (52).

An API reading of between zero and 50 indicates good air quality; between 51 and 100, moderate; between 101 and 200, unhealthy; between 201 and 300, very unhealthy and over 301, hazardous.

Members of the public can refer to the DOE portal at http://www.doe. gov.my to find out the API reading for their areas.
