The police have detained a man in connection with promoting and selling fireworks through Facebook during a raid at his house in Beserah in Kuantan yesterday afternoon.

Pahang CID (Commercial Crime) chief Supt Azizan Md Isa said the man’s Facebook account was found promoting the prohibited items on July 8.
Following the posting, he said the police conducted an investigation before nabbing the 29-year-old suspect at 1.15pm.
During the raid, the police seized, among others, 16 boxes of various types of firecrackers and four boxes of fireworks worth about RM1,000, he told reporters in Kuantan today.
Azizan said the police were in the midst of tracking down the source of the fireworks supply.
The suspect, who works as an apparel trader in a night market, has been remanded to facilitate investigations.
