The Johor government has yet to present the Johor Housing and Property Board Enactment to the Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Ismail Sultan Iskandar for his consent, said Menteri Besar Mohamed Khaled Nordin.
He said the state government was going through provisions in the enactment, passed by the State Legislative Assembly on June 9, and was not in a hurry to enforce it.
"There are still teething matters that needed to be addressed. So, there is no need to hurry," he told reporters after launching the golden jubilee celebration of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Dato Penggawa Timur's, Masai, Johor Bahru.
Mohamed Khaled said the enactment would be enforced early next year and time was needed to trash out administrative requirements and restructure staff posts.
"Let us get everything done first before presenting the enactment to His Highness for his consent," he said.
