Sanjeevan probed for cop sex scandal allegation

 

Aries46: Anti-crime NGO MyWatch chief R Sanjeevan is either naive, arrogant or plain stupid to play 'catch me if you can' with the police, knowing pretty well that they are a law unto themselves and what they are capable of.

 

Don't for a moment underestimate them or forget that only as recent as last year you were extricated from the throes of death. Ask Mongolian national Altantuya Shaariibuu and she will tell you 'dead men tell no tales'.

 

Don't try to do what even the courts are unable to do - to get the police to enforce the law. You have taken on a noble mission as an anti-crime watchdog but be smart.

 

Let professional whistleblowers such as MPs Rafizi Ramli or N Surendran flush out the crooks. You are no use dead to anyone except the criminals.

 

Dr Suresh Kumar: Involving the opposition is not a good idea because the authority will claim that the accusation by Sanjeevan is politically motivated.

 

Sanjeevan did the right thing by trying to engage the PM and the home minister. Unfortunately they did not cooperate, which is not surprising.

 

Now that he is being probed and since he has exhausted all avenues to get justice, without further ado, I suggest Sanjeevan expose the matter in the public domain and let the public judge for themselves.

 

Any further delay may lead to Sanjeevan losing his evidence as well as putting his own safety at risk. If fellow Malaysiakini readers have a better suggestion, please bring it up to help this poor man.

 

For the uninitiated, this sex scandal involves a high ranking public official, and thus it is not a personal or private matter and it warrants immediate investigation to rule out misuse or abuse of power.

 

Dire Straits: Excuse me, Dr Suresh Kumar, but what can Sanjeevan hope to achieve by exposing it in the public domain and letting the public judge for themselves?

 

If Sanjeevan were to be prosecuted, persecuted, incarcerated, or shot at again by the powers-that-be, what can the public hope to do for him?

 

I was partly involved in the management of his numerous life-threatening injuries after he was nearly murdered last year. Please, Dr Suresh, wake up from your idealist's dream and face reality.

 

You are probably not fully aware of the horrendous physical injuries which were inflicted upon Sanjeevan last year. It was purely by God's grace that he is still alive today.

 

With the present regime in power, the public have no say - not one bit!

 

Single Malt: Sanjeevan, your days are numbered. An attempt on your life was already made earlier and you escaped  by divine providence. Don't trust your luck.

 

Going to opposition will make it worse. Make copies and circulate to the public. Then see what happens. The public too have responsibilities, but knowing Malaysians they may not want to get involved.

 

Hplooi: Just upload or stash the original evidence in safe hands. Better yet, expose to the public to preclude any attempt at tempering of evidence. Otherwise you (not the one you accuse) are as good as nailed.

Pahatian: Sanjeevan just want to be a hero. Let him be one then and see where he ends up. Having shot at mysteriously, he still thinks he holds the upper hand. Wise up, before you are silenced forever.

Kit P: If the scandal also involves abuse of power by the high-ranking police officer, which may be the case here, it is definitely a matter of public interest.

 

The Mask: Sanjeevan, here's a suggestion picked out from some of the spy/police movies.

 

Photostat copies of your evidence, put them into a safe place, write a letter addressing it to one of the main opposition leaders telling him where you have kept the evidence, but ask a close friend to post it if anything happens to you.

 

And finally give the photostat copies of the evidence to the police. Let the police sweat it out.
