YOURSAY ‘Remove Khalid with dignity. Don't make him an enemy.’

Wan Azizah looks set for S’gor MB as plot thickens

Casey: "It is better to lead from behind and to put others in front, especially when you celebrate victory, when nice things occur. You take the frontline when there is danger. Then people will appreciate your leadership," said Nelson Mandela.

The struggle to liberate the nation from Umno's entrenched tyranny and bigotry has never been easy, and never will be.

To stay in power, Umno will have to make sure that Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim is weighed down by the legal burden of indictments, if not imprisonment.

To me, PKR president Wan Azizah Wan Ismail stands among the righteous and the virtuous. She is definitely among one of the more credible candidates to take over the helm of Selangor state government.

CQ Muar: Wan Azizah as MB will quell the storm within PKR which is riddled with internal bickering. This should end the controversies once and for all, and for Pakatan Rakyat to attend to more urgent needs of Selangorians.

Kak Wan Azizah will silent Umno lawyer Mohd Hafarizam Harun - that a woman is just as adept and capable compared to other male counterpart, if not better. We look forward to her installation as the country's first MB.

Wandering Star: At least, I am confident Kak Azizah will make a good candidate as a bridging MB for the Pakatan state administration.

She is undoubtedly the right person to calm the storm and reverse the shaky situation of the state government. With her at the helm, it cannot be any worse.

88888: MB Abdul Khalid Ibrahim is the best MB Selangor ever had. It's indeed sad and unwise to remove him. Who will want to serve as MB if he or she can be removed just like that?

The rich and capable will not want to be so treated. He will say, you can have the post. Why should he or she want to sacrifice time and effort if his services are not appreciated?

KnockKnock: If Umno could change the Terengganu MB overnight, let us respect the move made by PKR, which is almost similar to Terengganu case.

Maybe Wan Azizah could be as good as all the male MBs, hopefully better.

Thinking Aloud: Remove Khalid with dignity. He was partly instrumental in helping Pakatan win bigger in Selangor in the last GE. Don't make him an enemy.

PKR deputy president Azmin Ali should take a back seat and analyse why he has so much negative reaction to his bid to be MB.

Decide once and for all, the Selangor people deserves better.

Azlan: This is nepotism in the highest order. If not me then my wife, if not my wife, then my daughter, if not my daughter then my grandchild.

Come next GE, give your other daughter the Kajang seat and then make her the next MB. And then pass the seat to your grandchild.

You are crazy, Anwar. In 1997, you attacked Dr Mahathir Mohamad for practising nepotism. And now what's the difference between you and Dr M?

J Ng: The internal squabbling within Selangor government must be resolved quickly. Umno has been taking the advantage of being the devil’s advocate by using Khalid to divide Pakatan.

Regardless who is the MB designate, there will have some dissatisfaction. At this point, Wan Azizah will be the best proxy candidate for Anwar to re-stabilise Pakatan and the Selangor government.

Khalid must be magnanimous in giving way to the MB designate. He can play a major role post-MB in the healing process. However, all this is up to him.

Fair Play: Give and take is the only way forward for the Pakatan coalition. There is nothing wrong with a moderate PAS as deputy MB, while DAP should be given an extra exco seat.

It's every difficult to have a non-Muslim deputy MB under the present circumstances with Mais (Selangor Islamic Council) and Jais (Selangor Islamic Affairs Department) twisting everything to their advantage.

Just take a look at the ridiculous probe against Shah Alam MP Khalid Samad for sedition by PDRM (Royal Malaysian Police).

Hearty Malaysian: To be fair, give PAS and DAP each a deputy MB post. No one should be discriminated base on skin colour or religion, so if the state constitution prohibits non-Muslim as MB, Pakatan should have the courage to amend the state constitution.

A deputy MB who can help Wan Azizah to run the state administration is a good start.

Ferdtan: I’m proud of Selangor. First woman speaker. Now first woman menteri besar. What more do Selangorians want?

'PKR leaders okay smooth power transition in S'gor'

Fair Play: Looking at the present scenario, Wan Azizah is the best choice as she is acceptable to both PAS and DAP.

Besides, where Umno had failed, Pakatan would introduce an everlasting change of 'thinking outside the box' by having a first woman MB should HRH Sultan of Selangor give his consent.

And Selangor might emerge as the most progressive state in both human and economic development.

Observer: Well done Pakatan by removing Khalid. You have decided to hand Selangor over to BN come next election. Congratulations for putting expedience above principle.

Tok Karut: For all our sakes, get Khalid to help turn around MAS (Malaysia Airlines).
