MCA has urged voters to reject the Pakatan Rakyat coalition in the next Sarawak state election as the latter was “dishonest” when it claimed that its Islamist component party PAS was moderate in its views.

It's due for 2016 but there is a possibility it could be held a year earlier.

MCA Selangor state liaison committee secretary Ng Chok Sin said this in light of the leaked WhatsApp message sent by PAS Research Centre operations director Mohd Zuhdi Marzuki.

Ng ( right ) said that Zuhdi’s WhatsApp message revealed that within PAS, there exist factions between hardliners and what the public assumed were moderates.

“Ultimately, as practised in many Arab state nations and the Middle East, to grab and retain power, the ultimate targets and victims of persecution will be the non-Muslim minorities,” said Ng in a statement today.

In the leaked screenshot WhatsApp conversation , Zuhdi outlined a scenario on how PAS could defect from Pakatan and later form a simple majority government in the Selangor state assembly with the help of Umno, while keeping Abdul Khalid Ibrahim as Menteri Besar.

Ng also pointed out that Zuhdi had contradicted himself when he said he was only making an analysis on the scenario of PAS withdrawing from Pakatan to form the Selangor government.

“If Zuhdi does not support the motion (of withdrawing from Pakatan), then why did he even form such an analysis and said that they can just swat the non-Muslims away?”

Meanwhile, Gerakan Youth deputy chief Andy Yong said there was no chance of collaboration between PAS and Umno in Selangor.

“This is because PAS’ agenda of implementing hudud is unconstitutional and therefore unacceptable in BN.”

Yong also called for an immediate clarification from the Pakatan leadership “to clear the confusion stemmed from the ongoing menteri besar crisis.

“The rakyat deserve the right for political stability in the state,” he stressed.
