Air quality in the country was generally good with no area recording unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings as at noon today.

According to the Department of Environment’s portal, 11 areas had moderate API readings while 39 others were good.

The highest reading was recorded in Miri (74) and Sri Aman (66) in Sarawak and Port Klang with an API of 56, followed by Bakar Arang in Sungai Petani (55) and Kg Air Putih, Taiping (53).

Putrajaya recorded the best API reading of 22.

An API reading of between 0 and 50 is considered good; 51 to 100, moderate; 101 to 200, unhealthy; 201 to 300, very unhealthy; and 301 and above, hazardous.
