YOURSAY ‘Malay girls are much smarter than you give them credit.’

Don't fall for DAP's Malay sirens, Umno warns

Malaccan: Better to be lured by these 'sirens', for they are educated, progressive and courteous. They make sense when they speak and they promote a better Malaysia where every child is an equal.

What is the alternative? Uncivilised brutes, who may even be educated in Oxford but behave boorishly like spoiled brats.

Umno's idea of governance is to instil fear and hatred in its bid to control the people. What has Umno done if not tear the fabric of this nation with its wild antics and self-serving ways?

Umno keeps its pets on a tight leash and call them women's wings and coalition partners, who can only spout empty dribble.

CQ Muar: Umno supreme council member Irmohizam Ibrahim: obviously, you're jealous and envious that young and attractive Malay females like Dyana Sofya Mohd Daud and Young Syefura Othman chose to join DAP instead of your crooked party, which is known to reek of crime, cronyism, corruption, religious bigots, injustices and sins.

Your warning to Malay youths is tantamount to insulting their intelligence - preventing them from "falling" for young Malay female members and describing it as a ploy by DAP to recruit them.

Rightfully, you need to delve into Umno's own rotten history instead of DAP's - which has a better track record and certainly not "trickery" as claimed.

Gerard Lourdesamy: Despite decades of the New Economic Policy (NEP) and social engineering, is Umno conceding that its policies have failed the ordinary Malays?

Even at its best, Umno can only attract 60 percent support among Malay voters and the rest have consistently voted PAS, PKR and DAP.

To many ordinary Malays, Umno has become an elitist party that is dedicated to cronyism, corruption and abuses of power, which only favour a select group of super-rich and super-influential Malays.

It can only stay in power by appealing to base instincts of race and religion among the less educated and informed Malays.

The DAP may not be faultless, but at least its brand of social democracy may appeal to the working and middle-class Malays who are fed up with the constant appeal to race and religion by Umno, while advocating economic mismanagement and misfeasance to benefit a few select Malays under the guise of Malay supremacy.

RZC: Firstly, Malay youth, be it female or male, are not as stupid as Irmohizam makes them out to be. They have brains.

Secondly, I don't see any problem with DAP as a political party with multiracial members. In fact, this will help get rid of race-based politics once and for all.

Thirdly, if race-based politics is removed, I don't see how this will ruin the country. Maybe Irmohizam can tell us why Umno would not want to remove race-based politics?

SSDhaliwal: Irmohizam says that Malay youths are easily influenced. Come on, Malay youths, how long are you going to branded as confused, child-like and having no mental capacity to think on your own?

This admission means that even the support for Umno is also through some trickery on its part. The truth is Umno is worried sick that the day all the Malays see though its lies and corruption is the day Umno is doomed.

I believe that Umno has foreseen this and that's why Indonesians, Filipinos and Bangladeshis are being given instant citizenship.

Ksn: Umno Baru apparently is worried - no, scared - that Malays, especially the young and educated, find non-racial parties like DAP and PKR attractive.

That is the right direction not just for Malays but others, too, to take in moving forward.

We should come together as Malaysians to build the country with harmony and social justice being the backbone of our society.

So Umno Baru, your advice is out of date, and not line with modern Malaysia, including the Malays.

Tikusmati: I am sure the Malay youth, especially Malay girls, are much smarter than you give them credit.

Indeed, I surely cannot fathom you speaking on behalf of all the Malay youth and branding them ignorant and stupid.

Doc: Well, you got to admit it, Irmohizam Ibrahim, DAP's approach is yielding results. Guess DAP's marketing strategy is more superior then Umno's in attracting Malay youths.

Drngsc: It depends on how you wish to spin it. Sexist Umno, always looking at things from the sexual angle, like portraying these DAP Malay youths as objects.

But these are intelligent, next generation Malaysians who are trying to help the country.

Umno, can’t you see them from a nation-building angle? That they are trying to build a Malaysia for all Malaysians?
