Umno draws link between DAP and nudists
Swipenter: These Umno Baru hypocrites are as usual bankrupt of ideas and they just cannot resist to link the nudist event to religion and politics.
They claimed these nudists frolicked in front of a surau and the culprits did what they did because Penang was under DAP.
They also made excuses for the patrolman for being not able to stop the nudists doing their thing presumably because of the naked threats by the latter.
Penang Umno chief Zainal Abidin, go and take a hike in the forest reserve at Telok Bahang to clear your head of stupidity and hypocrisy.
Thinking Citizen_1403620863: It is true that public nudity is not an acceptable norm in Asia and we should respect the local culture; but let's not turn this into a political issue.
We have more important issues such as religious intolerance, non-performing ministries, lack of accountability by ministers and their subordinates, a broken education system which actually put the Malay majority at a disadvantage by giving them a certificate which is worth next to nothing.
Settle all these issues and I'm sure BN will be given a firm mandate by Malaysians because these are the aspirations they have for themselves and the future generations.
Odin: Zainal Abidin, two points - one, we gather that the event transpired at a secluded place in a forest reserve. Meaning, it is a private thing.
What people do willingly in private and as long as no crime is committed, it is their business. Had it occurred in a public area, it might be considered unacceptable.
And two, there are far more serious instances of ‘insults of the highest order' and of the tarnishing of the names of Penang and of Malaysia by your very own people, including but not limited to outsourced thugs such as those who broke into the state legislative assembly recently.
Al Red: If the nudists had broken any law by baring themselves in the forest, the patrolman (forest ranger) who stumbled upon them should be held responsible for not reporting them.
Penang Umno Baru seemed very ready to absolve the patrolman of that responsibility by saying that he may have been "threatened" by the nudists, yet they were only too quick to assign blame to the Penang CM.
It is not the job of the CM to be patrolling forests and beaches. One wonders what the nudists could have used to threaten the patrolman into not reporting them.
More likely, the patrolman may have kept silent, hoping that the nudists would return soon.
Negarawan: Zainal described the “nude sports” event as an “insult of the highest order” and that it has tarnished the name of Penang and Malaysia.
Well, Umno's corruption, incompetency, racial/religious extremism, and gross mismanagement of the country has "stripped" Malaysia of its honour, justice, unity, and progress.
Zainal, is an unworthy dud, who cannot see the log in his own eyes. He should look into the immorality within Umno, rather than trying to bad mouth the Penang state government to gain brownie points.
Wira: One thing is clear and paraphrasing the Penang Umno leader, Zainal Abidin Osman.
Racists and bigots are emboldened by the fact that Putrajaya encourages racism with their indifference to racists NGOs such as Perkasa and Isma. See the link now?
Cantabrigian: I don't see CM Lim Guan Eng shirking from his responsibility on this issue.
The fact he has welcomed the authority in charge of the forest reserve, i.e. the Federal Ministry, to investigate and prosecute the wrongdoers is exactly what a reasonable CM should have done.
Geographically, the place is in Penang but it does not mean any unlawful activities therein should be attributable to Lim. Umno has time and time again come up with lame insinuations just to discredit Pakatan Rakyat.
Observer: Who cares if some people want to go nude and paint their bodies? They are not hurting anyone.
Kawak: Penang Umno is bankrupt of ideas on how to bring down the DAP-led government.
The National Park is under the jurisdiction of federal government. The rangers are responsible. Why not Penang Umno be blamed for allowing the nudists to roam the beach?
What4: The fact is the inefficiency of the police make many people more daring to commit crimes.
Many motorcyclists do not wear helmet in Kuala Lumpur because they know the police do not bother.
Clearwater: In the late 1970s under BN rule, many young female visitors from Europe sunbathed on Batu Ferringhi beach without their tops on.
I still recall the local men excitedly hiding behind trees to ogle at these semi-nude visitors.
