PAS must decide - is it in or out of Pakatan?
YOURSAY ‘Make up your mind once and for all and don’t deceive us any more.’
PAS ulama chief: We're prepared to leave Pakatan
Jiminy Qrikert: PAS will have their meeting on Aug 17 to discuss the Selangor MB issue. That, frankly, is hogwash and a waste of time.
After all, Nik Aziz Nik Mat, Abdul Hadi Awang, Ahmad Yakob, the Dewan Ulama, the Syura Council have all voiced their support for renegade Selangor MB Khalid Ibrahim. Is there a more senior level above these people in PAS that has the authority to overrule their endorsement of Khalid?
This delay in making their official stand is simply a tactic to keep PKR unsettled and DSAI (Anwar Ibrahim) guessing as to what PAS wants out of this MB crisis.
In the meantime, it looks suspiciously like PAS is manoeuvring to take advantage of the current chaos and install their own man as MB. PAS' treachery is disgusting and must be repaid with a total rejection of the party in a snap polls or in the GE14 polls.
Ferdtan: Like I said before, the main culprit of this ‘PAS support Khalid as MB’ is none other than the PAS Dewan Ulama acting head Ahmad Yakob, who is also MB of Kelantan.
Without the support of Kelantan MB, party president Hadi Awang would not be so blatant in reversing his top six party leaders who had made official decision earlier in supporting the change in MB thus causing the conflict between PAS and its other partners.
Don’t forget he was responsible for trying to table the private bills in Parliament for hudud laws.
Go ahead, Ahmad Yakob, we welcome your desire for PAS to leave Pakatan Rakyat. It is your right if you want to join Umno.
But what happens if your other party leaders objected to leave Pakatan? Will you leave PAS then? You will be seen as a hypocrite if we find that you are still in the party/coalition.
If you cannot work with PKR or DAP, why then remain in your party that is still part of coalition? You just cannot be in a party/coalition when your heart is with another, Umno.
If your party vote to leave Pakatan, good for you. You can stay in PAS forever. We can welcome it - at least we are clear who our friends are and who are not.
Right now you, PAS leaders are sending mixed messages - make up your mind once and for all and don’t deceive us any more. Are you in or out?
Anticommunalist: PAS is looking mischievously at what it can gain out of this impasse. By forming an unholy alliance with Umno, they stand to gain funds for their state government in Kelantan as well as having a chance to co-rule Selangor with Umno and renegade Pakatan members.
Most importantly, BN will gain its two-thirds majority and hence the redelineation exercise will be carved out in favour of Malay-majority seats. In the long term, with Umno imploding and decaying, PAS stands to gain the most.
In future Pakatan will need to come back to the negotiating table with a resurgent PAS, whose stand will be very much more strengthened after more Malay-majority seats have been carved out.
Plus they will have a shot at their archaic hudud policy to be implemented. It looks like 'PAS is for all' was a scam to hoodwink the non-Malays all along in the last GE.
Swipenter: PAS, we call your bluff - please get out of Pakatan. We don't need you to make Malaysia a better place for all. In fact you have made our struggle for a new Malaysia more difficult.
You have nothing to show except promises made to your supporters of heavenly rewards after they are dead and gone.
SSDhaliwal: It need not be a personal betrayal but even the perception of betrayal and subsequent of lost of faith of the people, is sufficient for the MB to leave.
Moreover, the people did not vote for Khalid but the party in line with their party manifesto which Khalid has betrayed by giving state sanction for tolled highway to be built, as well as the ongoing water problems which Khalid has not only not resolved but the way he has gone about it does not benefit the taxpayers of Selangor.
This is betrayal of the people and if PAS does not see this, then we are better of without them.
Whatsup: PAS, your deceit is well-known. We voted for you because of Pakatan - we trust them and support them, not you. We are always wary of you because of your skewed religious idea and shameful bigotry.
What a relief, it's confirm that indeed you are nothing but opportunists, and this has nothing to do with religion.
Eventually, we will know the truth why you break your agreement (federal/cabinet positions perhaps?) with the Pakatan coalition, putting everything you stand for to shame and for all to see. Good riddance, PAS.
Sleepy: "Commenting further, Ahmad, who is the menteri besar of Kelantan which is led by PAS, however, said he wanted to see the issue resolved amicably and denied the crisis had caused a split in Pakatan.
“‘Not at all. It helps us mature in politics and I ask everyone to remain calm and find the best way out. If the (Selangor) state assembly is dissolved, that will also be a problem,’ he said.”
I see this as a door opening, not closing.
