Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim has asked his detractors, including Lim Kit Siang, to seek clarification from the state ruler if he had been misled.

"In the event that Lim is unfamiliar with the relevant protocol, I have taken the liberty of drafting a letter to the sultan for him to that end that needs only his signature.

"Other politicians are welcome to use it as well," he said in a media statement today.

Khalid also noted that those who claimed he had lied to the sultan must know that the allegation had dragged the monarch into the political mudslinging.

"It has been clarified that the sultan was satisfied that I had the majority support in the Selangor state assembly when I had an audience on Aug 11.

"At that time, the two (PAS) reps from Morib (Hasnul Baharuddin) and Hulu Kelang (Saari Sungib) were still loyal to their party PAS.

"It is illogical to suggest that their crossover should have been considered a fact before it was made public," he added.

Last week, PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail revealed that she commanded the majority support, with the two PAS assemblypersons backing her as well to take over as MB.

With the pair’s support, she has 30 of the 56 state assemblypersions behind her.

After this revelation, numerous quarters, including Lim, accused Khalid of misleading the sultan that he commanded the majority support in the House.

Following the latest development, Khalid said the sultan has asked him not to make any decisions until the ruler, who is currently, abroad returns to Malaysia on Aug 27.
