A co-organiser of the Nude Sports Games in Penang recently which caused a stir in the state has apologised publicly to Penangites in a letter published in a Chinese daily, New Straits Times reported today.

Albert Yam, 45, wrote an open letter in Kwong Wah Jit Poh , reportedly apologising for “causing a storm” and for the embarrassment that the nudist event had caused for Malaysians.

Yam is one of eight people who have been arrested so far by Malaysian police over their participation in the event, which had happened several months back.

“Dear Penang state government, we are sorry for holding a naturist event in Penang, which caused a storm in Malaysia,” the letter read.

Yam said that the naturists will not “do it again” and asked the state government to accept their “sincerest apologies”.

A video of the event, shot by the naturists themselves and uploaded into the video site Vimeo, went viral recently.
