Eleven of 16 concrete reinforcement rods aboard a trailer fell on the road here resulting in traffic congestions at 12.30pm today.

It is learnt the incident took place when the rope holding the rods snapped after the driver jammed on the brakes, on the viaduct at the Billion roundabout, Cheras, to avoid ramming a vehicle.

According to a Kuala Lumpur City Hall info traffic centre spokesman, the incident caused traffic congestions from the Grand Saga highway to the Billion roundabout.

"Nevertheless, the reinforcement rods were removed at 1.40pm and traffic returned to normal.

"No loss of life was reported," the spokesman added, when contacted by Bernama .
