Five policemen who are alleged to have been involved in trying to dispose a stolen car that was seized from an Indonesian, would be send to Negri Sembilan for further investigations.

Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Tajuddin Md Isa said based on information received, the car was reported stolen in Negri Sembilan.

“Initial investigations will be carried out in Kuala Lumpur... we will send them to Negri Sembilan for further investigations,” he told reporters after the opening of the Cheras police headquarters in Kuala Lumpur today by deputy IGP Mohd Bakri Zinin.

According to a local daily report, the suspects comprising three lance corporals and two constables were apparently in the midst of trying to dispose a Honda City that was reported stolen in Negri Sembilan when a police team nabbed one of them.

The local daily report said following interrogations, police carried out two other raids between 9pm on Sunday and 3am yesterday where the remaining policemen - two constables and two lance corporals all attached to a covert unit of the federal Special Branch - were detained.

The policemen had allegedly arrested a foreigner earlier this month near Bandar Utama and seized the stolen Honda City which was in his possession.

It is believed that the policemen had sought the help of a third party to dispose of the stolen car.

Meanwhile, Tajuddin said the construction of the new headquarters had been completed on March 31, 2013 and started operations since January.
