PAS President Abdul Hadi Awang should take his own advice and leave the party if he cannot head PAS in the spirit of Pakatan Rakyat, said the PKR Wanita wing.

Its Information Chief Azura Aziz said Hadi is "just being a chauvinist" for sidelining PKR President Wan Azizah Wan Ismail for the Selangor Menteri Besar post as agreed during the PAS Central Committee meeting.

"Who is he to say that Wan Azizah ( left ) is incapable? In terms of experience, credentials and qualifications she has what any right-thinking person would consider as sufficient," said Azura last night.

Wan Azizah's track record includes having been awarded a gold medal in obstetrics and gynaecology, graduated as an ophthalmologist and was ranked top student at Royal College of Surgeons.

"She founded the Reformasi Movement and NGO called Adil before becoming the President of PKR in 1999. She was also MP for Permatang Pauh and is currently the state representative for Kajang," said Azura.

"The flip-flop stance of PAS cannot be tolerated. If PAS cannot toe the line of the coalition, he should use the same advice he gave his own party members which is to leave the party if they are dissatisfied," said Azura.

Hadi  not democratic

Meanwhile, PKR Youth wing chief Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad said that Hadi is not democratic as a leader by sidelining the agreed name of Wan Azizah by the majority of the PAS CC.

"His statement that Wan Azizah is not qualified to be the Selangor MB is not at all in the spirit of a coalition, especially from one party president to another," said Nik Nazmi, in a press statement today.

Hadi was reported to have dropped Wan Azizah’s name from the list of nominees to the sultan for the Selangor MB’s post, even after the PAS CC had agreed to it.

Later, when asked why, he belittled Wan Azizah's parliamentary performance, tarbrushing her as someone incapable of taking on an even bigger position such as Selangor MB.
