Let’s have Najib-Rosmah vs Dyana-Yammy debate

YOURSAY ‘Dyana is a creation of Umno Baru... an unintended consequence.’

PM should learn from my mother, says Dyana

CQ Muar: PM Najib Razak, there you go again on the receiving end of the retort from Perak Dapsy committee member Dyana Sofya Mohd Daud and her mum, Yammy Samat.

You seem to point fingers at others despite your own deficiencies. Do you honestly expect the rakyat to forget those evils you wrought in the past and accept your 'philosophies of lies'? You may appear impressive in the government-owned mainstream media but majority of Malaysians are far from being forgetful.

As such, Mr PM, you're absolutely in no position whatsoever to fault Dyana, and advise her mum when you can hardly control your beloved wife, Rosmah Mansor.

Abasir: Dyana Sofia is a creation of Umno Baru. Perhaps I should say, she is an unintended consequence and, unfortunately for Najib, a brilliant one at that.

All through her growing years she has had a ringside seat at the Umno three-ring circus watching the convoluted ‘3R’ antics within, the grand larceny in the guise of shady crony deals, blatant corruption (which it euphemistically refers to as 'money politics') and serial bailouts and multi-billion ringgit restructuring with increasing trepidation.

As an intelligent Malay, with the uncommon ability to think and assess facts for herself, she made her decision to follow her conscience... supported by her immediate family. That irks Najib.

And the fact that she has turned out to be the exact opposite of the typical Umno product, characterised by mindless crudity and stupidity, is troubling him even more.

Proarte: Even though Dyana's mum Yammy remains in Umno, I admire her good sense and open-mindedness. In fact I would go as far as to say Pakatan Rakyat people can learn a lot from Umno member Yammy.

Just because I may be critical of Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim, this does not make me an enemy of Pakatan. Pakatan should not be about individuals but about adherence to policy and principles.

Anwar's failure to build on Pakatan's earlier success is due to his self-serving politics which has abused Islam which itself has been a source of instability in Pakatan and his betrayal of 'reformasi' where the rights of all would be protected.

Dont Just Talk: Dyana is a grown-up woman who is fiercely independent and has a mind of her own, just like my daughters.

Unless Dyana has committed a criminal act by joining DAP, why single her out for criticism when Najib should be proud that Dyana is truly a Malaysian under his 1Malaysia concept?

Give young, educated Malays room to disagree in order for Malaysia to grow to a developed nation of intellectuals and not those of the ‘katak’ breed, who have no principles and whose ideology is measured by how much money the other side can pay to change his/her loyalty.

KnockKnock: How I wish the four (mother and daughter versus husband and wife) could be put on stage live. It will be the grandest parental guidance debate of all time.

My Opinion: Young people are not always right and old folk are not always obsolete. An unwise and not teachable young person will eventually grow into an unwise old man. When you see a wise old man, you can roughly envisage the process of his life history.

Anonymous #13957745: Dyana, our salute to you. Extremely well said, you actually floored him with his outdated thinking.

You are an upcoming shining star, a future leader in the making, that Malaysians look forward to for continuous progressive, new ideas and inspirational thinking and not the systematic "memperbodohkan rakyat" Umno government.

Doc: Najib's idea of "freedom to choose" is simple. Choose BN and have freedom or choose opposition and have "sedition" charges on your head.

Fairnsquare: Dyana is a true young blood Malay, who shows that Malays can think for themselves. Sadly most elder politicians want Malays to follow and accept whatever is given to them.

They are made to think that the other races are a threat, while they themselves are being deprived of benefits due to them. She is a Malay who has woken up.

Retnam: Perkasa will be making police reports. The police will question these two women for, what else, sedition.

ID: It's time Najib and some politicians in Malaysia grow up. If he does something good for the country during his term as PM, he does it as the PM of Malaysia, not as the leader of his political party and he should not ask anyone to be grateful to his party forever.

Abraham Lincoln signed the 13th amendment to the US constitution to abolish slavery in 1865 as the president of the US, not as a Republican.

The Republican party would be asking African Americans today to be eternally grateful to it and ask them to "Republican-kan" their sons and daughters for the next 1,000 years, which would be another form of enslavement, if it were to behave like Umno Baru.

Multi Racial: I think the majority of Umno members think like Yammy Samat. It is just that they do not stand up to be counted. As a result of that, they allow their leaders to do what they think is popular. It’s time for all moderates to stand up to be counted so that racism will be defeated.

MingXiang: A double whammy from Yammy the Mammy.
