DAP's Ipoh Barat MP M Kulasegaran today urged Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khalid Abu Bakar to listen to his predecessor Musa Hassan what the IGP needs to do in the Indira Gandhi custody battle.
 
Musa (left) was recently reported as saying that he would have acted on the court orders for the police to retrieve single mom Indira's second child Prasanna Diksha from her convert ex-husband Riduan Abdullah.
 
Khalid has remained stubborn and had refused to comply with the court order to arrest Riduan and retrieve the child as the custody of all the couple's children had been given to Indira.
 
"The IGP Tan Sri Khalid should take the views of his predecessor very seriously and be persuaded to carry out his duties with vigour and arrest Riduan and retrieve the child immediately," Kulasegaran, who is Indira's lawyer, said.
 
"By this good deed, the public perception would be favourable to the police force and would further enhance the confidence in the police force," he added.
 
Kulasegaran stressed that nobody, including the IGP, is above the law.
 
"The child has not seen the mother and the mother has not seen the child for more than five years," he said.
 
"A young child of this age needs the care and protection of the mother as these are formative years of the child more than any other time. Enough damage has been done," he stressed.
 
Last Friday, the high court of Ipoh gave a mandamus order against the IGP, ordering him to immediately arrest Riduan and retrieve the six-year-old child (both pictured above) .
