Anwar Ibrahim first created turmoil in Umno and now PAS has been plunged into a crisis because of him, Abdul Rahman Dahlan said today.

The urban well-being, housing and local government minister posted a series of tweets on the opposition leader's political manoeuvering.

The Kota Belud MP was responding to the ongoing PAS muktamar, where the internal rift as a result of the Anwar-engineered "Kajang Move" has become one of the main focal points.

"First Umno, now PAS. The internal turmoil inflicted on political parties by Anwar's careless political shenanigans is simply astounding.

"Everyone knows that PAS leaders are brutally cannibalising each other on a daily basis because of Anwar's political shenanigans," he said.

Abdul Rahman also recalled the late DAP national chairperson Karpal Singh's reservations regarding the former deputy prime minister.

"Now I know why Karpal said Anwar is nothing but trouble and wanted Anwar to 'taubat' (repent). Very telling," he added.

Among those who took a swipe at Anwar during the muktamar was a Kelantan PAS Youth delegate, who claimed that the opposition leader bulldozes his plans without consultation.

The Selangor menteri besar crisis has strained ties between the Pakatan parties, with the muktamar witnessing calls to review PAS' presence in the opposition bloc.

PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang and the syura council have been severly criticised for not adhering to the consensus to nominate Anwar’s wife and PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail for the menteri besar post.

The issue has also split PAS, with certain quarters purportedly plotting to topple Hadi.

The situation exacerbated with the formation of a PAS-linked NGO Persatuan Ummah Sejahtera (PasMa), which is being touted as the replacement to PAS in Pakatan.
