Zahid, stop playing ‘tai chi’ with Zaid

YOURSAY ‘If every question is flung back, then Zaid should be home minister.’

Zahid dodges bullet on Zaid's apartheid question

Ipohcrite: This is how you earned your doctorate of philosophy (PhD). First, you make a wild or ambiguous claim, and sound very smart about it.

Next, when your critics have a go at you, you turn the tables on them by saying that since they are so smart, they should have understood what you said or claimed, and that you need not reply to them.

Then, you offer advice by asking them to reflect on what you have said. Impressed? Now you know.

Kilgore: How pathetic that Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi cannot explain the law that is being used.

Former de facto law minister Zaid Ibrahim is asking for clarification for the citizenry of the country. If a lawyer can't be sure of what is legal, how are the people on the street supposed to know?

Negarawan: "He (Zaid) is a lawyer, you ask him that," Zahid said.

Clearly, Zahid does not have the intellectual capacity to answer those questions.

Hope234: As usual, when Zahid cannot answer a simple question, he tries to deflect the issue by creating a different issue, i.e apartheid South Africa (which is not related to the four 'areas' he mentioned - the monarchy, Islam, Bahasa Malaysia and the special position of Malays and bumiputera).

Anyway, his lack of argument on apartheid is simply preposterous because Zaid did not say the situation of apartheid in South Africa and the situation of the four sacred areas are similar, but by comparison, it is worse.

Angry_Voter: It is five main areas now. Questioning Umno's right to rule is the latest.

Clongviews: If every question is flung back to Zaid to answer, then Zaid should be the home minister.

Victor Johan: Zahid, stop 'turning tables around' and playing 'tai chi'. We demand you to explicitly and clearly define what are the breaches of the “four main 'sacred' areas” that could land one on the wrong side of the Sedition Act.

Any other utterances from you only show you are a weakling and your Umno government and party are gutter politicians.

Go ahead and have a public debate with Zaid. You are currently the home minister, right? An Umno leader, right? Show us that you got guts.

Tan Kim Keong: As expected and without any shred of doubt, Zahid does not have the intellectual capacity to counter Zaid's comments and questions on the four areas.

Hence this is his reply. So what does that tell the rakyat about substance of our cabinet ministers.

Anonymous_1403851580: One person suppressed all voices and spent a good 22 years developing the race, finally he says he has failed, most of the country's wealth has been drained and poor Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and Najib Abdul Razak have to struggle to ensure that BN is in control. That’s why the Goods and Services Tax (GST) is being implemented.

Anonydfwe23: Zahid, what's the point in asking Zaid to answer? And you mention that he should know because he is a lawyer. Of course, he knows.

But we, the general public, do not know. And we want to know. Now Honourable Minister, please answer Zaid's question. Otherwise keep your gap shut.

Senior: The law must be clear before anyone is convicted of any offence. The urging for Zahid to define and clearly state what is allowed or not allowed is a step in the right direction.

That is unless you want it to remain vague and ambiguous, so that you can flip-flop when you like to charge whoever you dislike.

For example, what Mahathir said - to me - is seditious, but he has immunity and some even say it's " fatherly advice ". I'm sure if I say the same thing I will be charged. Where is the consistency and fairness?

Well Thats Fantastic: He dodged nothing. He fumbled through another interview is all I got from that.

Kangkung: Other than Umno's ‘sacred’ areas, it is totally all right for Umno followers and NGOs to bash Pakatan leaders, question the status of the mother tongue of other races, run down other religions and people of other races.

Appum: When a false footballer doesn't know how to kick the ball with precise control, when tested, will always ask you to kick the ball first and show him. He will never show you how he kicks the ball.

Onyourtoes: Zahid, we disagree with you, but we agree fully with Zaid. To you of course it is easy, you define sedition based on which side of the bed you get up each morning.
