P KUBOR The federal government has allocated RM1.2 million to repair and upgrade three mosques and two suraus in Pengkalan Kubor, according to Kelantan Barisan Nasional chairperson Mustapa Mohamed.

He said the allocation was aimed at providing comfort to the local congregations to perform their religious obligations.

"Of the total, RM500,000 was given to the Simpangan Mosque, RM300,000 to Pak Keral Mosque and RM300,000 to Huda Mosque in Pengkalan Kubor," he told reporters after presenting the cheque of RM50,000 to Surau Haji Daud, Geting in Tumpat today.

The same amount of RM50,000 was also given to Surau Mat Amin in Kampung Ketil, he said.

The allocation was approved by the federal government following the visit by Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin to the state constituency last Friday.

RM300,000 for Tumpat entrepenuers' club

Separately, Muhyiddin also announced an allocation of RM300,000 to set up an entreprenuers' club in the Tumpat district, benefitting 3,121 people.

Muhyiddin (left) made the announcement when officiating the Malaysia Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia Recognition Ceremony at the Tumpat Mara Science Junior College today.

"I want to see the entrepreneur club set up in Tumpat and I am giving RM300,000 even though they asked for RM500,000.

"For the sake of my friends who have succeeded in business and to set an example to others, I am giving some money to set up the club," he said to an audience of more than 2,000 friends of AIM who were at the ceremony.

Earlier, the chairman of the AIM Board, Zubir Harun in his speech, appealed for an allocation of RM500,000 from Muhyiddin to set up the club.

Zubir said it would a token of appreciation of the successful role AIM friends have played in the district and the club could spur more people to succeed.

According to Zubir, 8,000 entrepreneur clubs would be set up in the country to encourage AIM friends to be involved in business.
