P KUBOR With only one more day of campaigning left, the BN machinery is stepping up efforts to meet voters following alleged PAS lies against the BN government.

BN by-election director Mustapa Mohamed claimed PAS leaders were actively defaming the BN government over petroleum royalty and also alleging that Kelantan had been marginalised when it came to developing the state.

"In house-to-house campaign for Pengkalan Kubor, they sow hatred of voters against the BN government," he told a media conference in Tumpat today.

Mustapa, who is also Kelantan BN chairman, said even though the petroleum royalty issue was still with the court, PAS continued to incite hatred of voters against the BN government.

"Our stand on the royalty issue is clearly via the court and we should be open-minded on the matter," he said.

He said the federal government has never marginalised Kelantan and the people could see for themselves the development brought to this state.

The BN election machinery was also advised to campaign prudently and be patient against provocation of the opponents in the final round of campaigning.

The by-election is a three-cornered fight between BN's Mat Razi Mat Ail, Wan Rosdi Wan Ibrahim of PAS and independent Izat Bukhari Ismail Bukhari.

It is being held following the death of incumbent Noor Zahidi Omar of BN on Aug 20.
