The Housing Ministry will probe allegations by certain bumiputera house buyers that they are being victimised by non-bumiputera housing developers.
Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Minister Abdul Rahman Dahlan said he has directed the ministry's secretary-general to conduct an immediate probe into the allegations.
"I have received many messages (SMS) about allegations that bumiputera house buyers are being victimised by non-bumiputera housing developers.
"The allegations have gone viral in the social media over the past few days," he said in a statement yesterday.
Abdul Rahman urged the complainants to provide more information so that the ministry can conduct the probe in detail.
He said the ministry would not hesitate to take action against housing developers caught breaching the regulations.
"I have also ordered the Real Estate and Housing Developers' Association (Rehda) to probe and take appropriate action if their members are involved."
