PAS deputy president Mohamad Sabu, popularly known as Mat Sabu, has been admitted to a hospital in Klang. He is suspected of suffering from dengue.

 

PAS members have circulated on social media a picture of Mat Sabu receiving treatment at the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital.

 

PAS' Shah Alam MP Khalid Samad has also stated that Mat Sabu was admitted after being suspected of suffering from dengue.

 

The pictures had begun circulating since early this morning.

 

Mat Sabu, 59, is also the Penang PAS commissioner and is regarded as the most influential leader among PAS' progressive faction.

According to his personal assistant Tajuddin Othman, Mat Sabu had been having fever for the past several days, and decided to get himself admitted soon after returning from Krabi, Thailand where he went for a one-day programme.

He said that previous visits to clinics revealed no indication that Mat Sabu might be suffering from dengue.

However, Tajuddin said that Mat Sabu’s condition has improved today, and they are hopeful of a discharge this evening.

“If his fever reduced, maybe he will leave the hospital today but we will wait for the doctor’s report this evening,” he said.
