'Don't expect them to find Teoh's murderers'
YOURSAY
‘It is clear it is now virtually impossible to do an unbiased investigation.’
FellowMalaysian:
It has been an exhausting nightmare for the family members of Teoh Beng Hock the past five years having to endure this cruel plight inflicted upon them through the dastardly actions of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
We should be ashamed and embarrassed that MACC, our anti-corruption agency, has failed to live up to its name and honour in protecting the public's interest but instead resorted to abusing the powers vested in them until an innocent life was tragically snuffed out right on MACC grounds.
Before the agency tarnishes its name any further and bring more blushes to the government and its people, I urge MACC to owe up and tell the truth instead of hiding in mendacity.
Kit P:
It is clear that it is now virtually impossible to have an unbiased investigation on the Teoh case conducted by Malaysian authorities.
Even after the court ruling, the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) and MACC appear determined to prove that it was suicide.
It may be necessary for respected foreign law enforcement agencies such as those from the United States or Britain to be invited to oversee this investigation.
Basically:
They are looking high and low, running in circles, when the possible culprits are standing right before their very eyes. Incompetence or deliberate?
I am sure everyone knows the old joke, when we tell the cops the thieves have gone in this direction, they quickly step on the gas and drive the opposite direction.
Nice work, Minister in the PM’s Department Paul Low.
Axolotl:
Who would have believed back in 2009 that once Najib Abdul Razak took over from Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, every single law enforcement agency in Malaysia would plummet to such unimaginable depths of depravity?
I knew it was inevitable but many remain in vigorous denial because they value their fancy lifestyles and status far more than truth, justice, integrity or dignity.
Hplooi:
I would be putting this in very strong language if not for the bogey of ‘hasutan’ (sedition).
IMO (in my opinion), the Teoh family should engage a private investigator to root out the 'smoking gun' (as soon as possible before more evidence is destroyed).
I'm sure members of the public would be keen to contribute to such a fund.
FairMind:
Does it ever occur to the Teoh family, the police could be implicit in the cover-up the case? This could be because to uncover the case, it will open two cans of worms.
The first can of worms would be exposing the murder of TBH (Teoh Beng Hock) which may involve the powers-that-be and senior personnel of MACC.
The second can of worm would be exposing the takeover of Selangor involving Umno leaders.
So, the police may just be going through the motion of investigation without any result, leaving many loopholes open for challenge in future court action, like in the case of Altantuya Shaaribuu murder.
Even if the culprits are brought to book in future, they will be freed by the deliberate haphazard investigation. Haven't we seen that in the Altantuya case?
Damntlwbn:
They may try to cover this up as I believe the three MACC guys were doing a job for someone - a case of ‘you help me, I help you’.
But they have forgotten the Almighty was and is watching from a distance. They may hide, run and come up with all sorts of excuses - like producing a suicide note three months later - but their days are numbered.
Thana55:
They should go and reinvestigate the Altantuya case too where the suspected criminals walked free. In this case, there appears to be some unseen hand working to delay the MACC conviction.
Siang Malam:
The RCI (royal commission of inquiry) on Teoh Beng Hock labelled the three MACC officers as "an arrogant leader, a bully and an abuser".
But one was promoted to be a director and the other two are still in MACC despite that one was caught using the office computer to view pornography during working hours. ‘Inilah’ (this is) Bolehland.
Rick Teo:
There must still be some good men at MACC who knew what actually happened on the night Beng Hock was killed. That good man must now come forward and tell the truth.
Bumiputhran:
Please don't waste efforts and mislead the rakyat. The PDRM and the attorney-general (AG) will not carry out any direction given by the courts or any authority.
If you people think that in Malaysia you can get justice, you are dreaming. Nothing will happen. But I suppose this process keeps one’s hope alive.
Ace:
After three months, a "suicide note" was conveniently found.
Maybe if they find hard enough and question hard enough, after five years they may find a note with Teoh admitting that he strangled himself!
