Another protest against the fuel price hike will be organised in Kuala Lumpur tomorrow, this time in the form of satire performances.

The protest, dubbed "Satira 20 Sen: Protes Kenaikan Harga Minyak" (20 Sen Satire: Protest Against Fuel Price Increase), is to be staged at the Sogo shopping mall from 2.30pm.

It will be a warm-up to a bigger protest, anti-price hike movement Turun chairperson Mohd Azan Safar said today.

However, Azan ( left ) said he could not reveal more details of the bigger protest, as some of the details of venue, time and organising parties had yet to be finalised.

Azan, who attracted a 10,000-strong crowd at the New Year’s Eve protest against price hikes, estimates that a crowd of some 200 only will attend tomorrow's protest, which is being jointly organised by 10 NGOs and political parties.

This small gathering, he said, could be because many members of the public were fed up with the Selangor menteri besar crisis that saw Pakatan Rakyat parties fight one another, and that many were, therefore, reluctant to take to the streets.

The students' movement was equally affected, Azan said, with many of their activities "frozen" and quietened down.

"The mood is not there, so we need to rebuild it," he told Malaysiakini .

Azan also expressed concern that Prime Minister and Finance Minister Najib Abdul Razak might announce some “goodies” when he tables Budget 2015 this evening and that this would confuse the rakyat, affecting the protest.

The organisers of tomorrow’s protest, besides Turun, include PAS Youth, PKR Youth, DAP Socialist Youth and Gabungan Mahasiswa Islam Se-Malaysia (Gamis).
