PAS suspends rebel reps for backing Azizah

Ablastine: Saari Sungib and Hasnul Baharuddin, I thought you might want to know that in the next election, if both of you are contesting, you will likely win in any constituency you contest.

Don't bother with what PAS will do to you. It doesn't matter very much because they will be history after the next election. Nobody will trust them. Not even Umno. You are, in the eyes of the rakyat, righteous people who put country before self. My respects.

Hot Khong: How convenient - they are not allowed to represent PAS in party events, but are still considered PAS assemblypersons... it's like saying, the husband and wife are estranged, but the wife cannot stay under the husband's roof; will not be looked after by the husband and will not be allowed to seek shelter under another man's roof.

Martha: They should never ever be termed as rebels. These two assemblypersons Encik Saari Sunjib and Encik Hasnul Baharuddin should instead be called heroes. Honestly, did they not save Selangor from falling into the hands of Umno?

Quigonbond: There is nothing symbolic about this. Suspending them means less votes against the ulama if some elections are held soon. Keeping them in PAS means they can't do greater damage from the outside. PAS ulama are not so politically unsavoury after all. Perhaps their problem is they are too savvy for their own good.

RZC: The suspended duo and other right-thinking members of PAS have a lot of thinking and deciding to do. Stay with the autocrats and bigots, racist and power crazy and dishonest partners or leave and form a liberal, non-racist and honest party or be independent?

They must remember that times change people and views and the PAS they joined with such hope and vision is not the same now. Please save Malaysia. This is my request to the suspended duo and others like them.

Commentable: YB Saari Sungib and YB Hasnul Baharuddin, I wouldn't fret too much if I were you. The door to the Syura Council may be slammed closed in your face but the door to Syurga is always open to men like you who have fearlessly fought for righteousness, conscience, integrity and fairness. Let not the lesser mortal beings judge you but the Almighty, when the time comes.

Mushiro: PAS is living in its own world, where the ulama faction is slightly stronger than the progressives and thus the ulama flex their muscles. It is not a question of whether what Saari and Hasnul did is right or wrong.

On the same principle, PAS should not support Azmin Ali as menteri besar as his name was not submitted by PAS. Saari and Hasnul should not appeal to a body that is not ruled by democratic principles.

Avatar1: To YB Saari and YB Hasnul: always believe that everything happens for a reason. As much as we were annoyed about the Selangor MB issue with PKR and Pakatan, it also showed the true colours of PAS and its cohorts.

Take the suspension as a blessing and form a new party of Islamist moderates, like PasMa. Let this new party be a force to encapsulate all the Islamist moderates who look forward to develop the ideology and teaching of Islam in a holistic way, in line with the changes around the world and specifically in line with a multi-cultural society like Malaysia.

The people will support both of you with this new party and be a force in Pakatan in the next election in Pakatan. I suspect many leaders are not going to be around with the current sedition blast and I foresee Anwar Ibrahim going to prison, sooner or later. Both of you, together with Khalid Samad, Mat Sabu and other moderates, are the key to the survival of Pakatan and our road to Putrajaya.

Mr KJ John: Dear friends, please appeal and explain why you stood by your conviction for truth and not blindly follow party allegiance. You may become the newer version of Martin Luther for PAS!

Siang Malam: Finito! The people of Selangor will definitely not vote for PAS because the party has suspended its members who had supported the people's choice. Simple as that. And also I do not drink but I do not agree with PAS for denying people who drink beer.

Go and solve your widespread drug abuse cases in Kelantan as well as cases of abandoned babies there first. Please, do not teach others how to lead their lives when you can't even manage your own!

Keturunan Malaysia: Saari Sungib and Hasnul Baharuddin, I suggest both of you don't appeal. Why should you give credence to this 'face-saving' reaction of theirs in justifying their shameless action?

Kangkung: It is now clear that PAS is now with Umno. The representatives supported a Pakatan state government and PAS has taken action against them. If it is wrong for PAS members and leaders to support Pakatan then why is PAS still in Pakatan? The voters are watching PAS and in the next general election, we will send the message to Umno-PAS.

A Selangor Voter: Will the real PAS that stands for true Islam, please stand up?

Basically: So much for Islamic principles. The duo did the right and honourable thing, and are punished. As I understand, Islamic justice takes into view the motivations behind an action, not just the act itself, to determine guilt.

My Muslim friends tell me a thief may be forgiven if he has stolen because he is destitute and needs to feed his poor, for example. That is commendable. but it seems PAS does not practice what Prophet Muhammad wisely expounds.

Jiminy Qrikert: PAS should have fired Mat Sabu, Khalid Samad, Saari and Hasnul. Free from PAS, they can then opt to join DAP. Then, DAP will have the righteous and respected Malay leaders among its leadership and can make plans to contest for the MB posts in west coast states like Perak and Negri Sembilan. Kick PAS out from Pakatan and PKR and DAP will have a better time working together.

Lone_star: Call them "barua" and then only suspend them for a year? Sure you got it right? So cincai, meh ?

UntaSenyum: PAS should, and also needs, to 'suspend' Umno from its mind, subconscious mind and heart, once and for all!
