UDA Holdings Bhd and Tradewinds Corp Bhd have resolved issues with the tenants of Bukit Bintang Plaza (BB Plaza) during a dialogue session held recently.

In a statement today, UDA managing director Ahmad Abu Bakar said the dialogue session achieved its objective and the parties involved understood the issues at hand.

UDA said it would redevelop BB Plaza into commercial space, serviced-apartments and a shopping mall which it would manage and maintain.

Towards this end, UDA said, it has undertook the task of addressing and resolving the current tenants’ issues to facilitate, vacate and eventually assist them in moving out from BB Plaza to their new premises at year-end.

“BB Plaza in its current state is unsafe for occupation due to the mass rapid transit on-going underground construction works,” it said.  

UDA said it would move to Pertama Complex and vacate BB Plaza in stages.

It said qualified tenants were welcomed to move and rent its commercial space in Pudu or Pertama Complex subject to availability.

“The final notice to vacate was issued in September 2013 to the tenants, and is being enforced from January to December 2014,” it said.
