The Malacca state legislative assembly today passed a motion to appoint Malacca MCA secretary Koh Chin Han as a member of the Dewan Negara to represent the state.
The Malacca state legislative assembly today passed a motion to appoint Malacca MCA secretary Koh Chin Han as a member of the Dewan Negara to represent the state.
The motion, which was proposed by Chief Minister Idris Haron (BN-Sungai Udang) and seconded by Md Yunos Husin (BN-Ayer Molek), was supported by 21 out of the 28 state assemblypersons.
When tabling the motion, Idris said Koh, who is also an MCA central committtee member, played an important role in efforts to improve the lives of the people in Malacca.
“He has played a role as a bridge to enhance ties between the people and state government by voicing the various needs of the people to the government such as the construction of basic infrastructure like roads and drainage system, especially in Jasin district.
“The state government hopes that as a senator, his persistence and spirit of helping as well as solving the people's problems can be continued,” he said.
Koh, who is from Merlimau, Jasin will replace Saat Abu, who has been serving as a senator representing the state from Nov 15, 2011 until tomorrow.
